Rayan Ebnali Harari, PhD

Dr. Rayan Ebnali Harari, a Research Scientist at Harvard Medical School and a faculty member at Mass General Brigham’s Department of Emergency Medicine, has a multidisciplinary academic background that includes a PhD in Systems Engineering and dual Master’s degrees in Computer Sciences and Cognitive Engineering.

Dr. Harari has led and actively contributed to the conception, development, and assessment of AI, AR, and VR-based clinical decision support systems. These efforts, funded by NASA (TRISH and HERO), NIH, the DoD, and the NSF, aim to advance the capabilities of clinicians, astronauts, and military crews in demanding environments. His primary research interests lie in the integration of AI, non-invasive biomarkers, and immersive technologies to improve clinical decision-making and patient safety. This aligns with his overarching mission to create safer and more effective healthcare systems through the design and validation of intelligent clinical competency assessment and decision support applications. His work has been recognized both locally and nationally, resulting in several peer-reviewed publications, book chapters, and numerous presentations at conferences as an invited speaker.
